If you are looking for a great external mic for your iPhone or iPod, check out Mikey by Blue Microphones.

A friend of mine demo’d it a few days ago, and it sounds awesome. I’ve always been a fan of Blue’s stuff, and this is a great alternative to the docks and other external options for the iPod. It has three gain settings, so it works everywhere from a quiet meeting to a live concert.

Also, just realized that Amazon is selling it for half price. 50 bucks is still on the high end, but a great buy if you want to create slightly more “professional” vids.

EDIT:  It doesn’t say its compatible with the iPhone, but all you need is a recording app like 4Track
