YES. Just. Yes. Over Christmas I watched the taped-off-the-tv Peter Pan (the Mary Martin version last broadcast in 1988) and the best part were all the commercials. OshKosh B’Gosh. Go Bots. My Buddy and Me. The Peter Pan peanut butter ones featuring Larry from Perfect Strangers. Anderson, you keep outdoing yourself. Love it!!
Ironically, I still have my VHS recording of the Peter Pan broadcast, with all the same commercials. I was thinking about pulling them onto my computer, but, I’m lazy. Luckily, Gawker did the work for me.
The BK commercial is especially memorable. My mom almost bought me a pair, until she overheard some kid in my class call them “Blood Killers”, to which she replied that I could never own gang shoes. Pretty sure I got a pair anyways, but it was once they hit the Marshall’s shelves and were no longer cool (along with my neon green Airwalks and Bad Boy Pog Slammer).
